Does Grok Bot itself run on Pareto?
No. Grok Bot keeps running as it is. It installs Hermes Agent, an open-source agent made by Nous Research, on its cloud computer and points that agent at Pareto. After that, Grok Bot can hand tasks to it for you.
Why does Grok Bot never ask for my key in chat?
Your API key works like a password. The setup file tells Grok Bot to ask for it with its secure secret card: the field is masked, you choose Save securely, and the value is not written into the chat. Grok Bot then checks the key works without ever printing it. Grok Bot’s help explains how saved secrets work.
When does my key start working?
New accounts are reviewed and approved by hand before access turns on, so paying does not mean instant access. Grok Bot waits for you at that step, then finishes the rest.
Does anything get installed on my own computer?
No. Grok Bot installs Hermes Agent on its own cloud computer, not on your laptop or phone, and runs every command there. You only use your browser to make your Unbiased account.
What happens when I hit the weekly allowance?
Requests over your plan’s limits return an HTTP 429 error. Personal includes 50M tokens a week and 20 requests per minute. Personal Max raises that to 600M a week and 60 requests per minute for $100/month. Team uses prepaid pay-as-you-go credits with no weekly token cap.
Is my data kept?
Personal and Personal Max are not our zero data retention tier: prompts and responses may be kept up to 30 days, as section 5(c) of the Terms explains. For work that must not be kept, ask about the Zero Data Retention API on the Private AI page.
What if Grok Bot’s computer is reset?
Recovering, resetting or updating Grok Bot’s computer can remove installed apps. If Hermes Agent stops working after that, ask Grok Bot to read the setup file again. A key saved with the secure secret card stays saved. Grok Bot’s help lists what each action keeps.
