Is Your Harness On The Frontier?
You use AI to improve your code. Why stop at the app you use to write it? Every awkward interaction, missing shortcut, and “I wish it worked this way” is a potential project for the same intelligence you’re already working with. Your AI tools shouldn’t be the one part of your workflow you can’t change.
The Unbiased macOS app is now open source: a Pareto-powered coding agent built on Codex’s app-server, with a desktop interface you can inspect, fork, and modify. It’s a project for people who like getting their hands on what’s next. Try it on real work, find the friction, and use your agent to help build the version you’d rather be using.
Pareto is about getting more from the intelligence available to you. But the model is only part of that equation. The harness around it determines what context you provide, how you steer it, and how much effort it takes to turn an answer into useful work. A better model inside an awkward workflow still leaves you doing the awkward parts. Those deserve an upgrade, too.
Start with the moments you already recognize. You want to question an approach without derailing the task: side chat gives you a temporary branch with the conversation’s context. You want to point at the exact passage that needs attention: annotations carry that feedback into your next message. Those are starting points, not the final word. Want a different way to review the agent’s work or organize a project? Bring the source into your coding workflow and ask your agent to help you change it.
That’s the loop we want to explore: use better intelligence to build better tools for working with that intelligence. It takes experimentation, testing, and judgment, but you don’t have to wait for our roadmap to try your idea.
