Use Pareto on OpenRouter
Pareto, the blended model from Unbiased, is available on OpenRouter. If you already send traffic through OpenRouter, you can call it with one model slug.
The model slug
Use unbiased/pareto-26.10 to pin Pareto 26.10. OpenRouter also lists ~unbiased/pareto-latest, which it describes as always redirecting to the latest model in the Pareto family. Model page: openrouter.ai/unbiased/pareto-26.10.
A request
curl https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OPENROUTER_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model": "unbiased/pareto-26.10", "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello"}]}'
OpenRouter’s API is OpenAI-compatible, so most clients only need the base URL https://openrouter.ai/api/v1, your OpenRouter key and the slug. OpenRouter lists these parameters for the Pareto endpoint: max_tokens, temperature, top_p, tools and tool_choice. Validate streaming, tools and error handling in your own client.

Data handling
How Circuit & Chisel, which runs Unbiased, handles prompts and responses is set by our Terms, section 5(c) and Data Policy. OpenRouter’s own data policies also apply to your use of OpenRouter.
OpenRouter or the Unbiased API?
- OpenRouter: you already use it, or want one key and one bill across many models.
- Unbiased API: you want our plans and rates, direct support and onboarding, and the Anthropic Messages format (
/v1/messages) as well as OpenAI chat completions. Start at the API docs.
Not the same as OpenRouter’s “Pareto Code Router”
OpenRouter also offers openrouter/pareto-code, its own product for picking coding models. It’s a separate OpenRouter product, not Pareto from Unbiased. For our model, use unbiased/pareto-26.10.
